Volvo SUVs and Cross Country Models Achieve Editor’s Choice Honors for Six Consecutive Years

Volvo Cars has announced that five of its SUV and Cross Country models have been selected for the ‘Editor’s Choice’ by the renowned automotive magazine, Car and Driver.

This reinforces that the SUV lineup, XC40, XC60, and XC90 has been honored with the ‘Editor’s Choice’ award for six consecutive years from 2018 to this year, while the crossover lineup, V60 Cross Country and V90 Cross Country, has been recognized as ‘Editor’s Choice’ for four consecutive years since 2020.

Founded in 1955, Car and Driver is an influential automotive publication that impacts consumers worldwide. Each year, professional editors test hundreds of various models and announce the top 10 in categories like best sedans and best SUVs & trucks under the name ‘Editor’s Choice’. This year’s evaluation involved 432 models.

To be included in the Editor’s Choice list, vehicles must pass rigorous testing conducted by Car and Driver with excellent results. Evaluation criteria include the editor’s qualitative assessment of each vehicle’s performance, the degree to which the vehicle excels in tasks such as acceleration, braking, and cornering, and rankings obtained in comparison to competing models within the same segment.

The award-winning vehicles were praised for their attractive Scandinavian style in both exterior and interior, practicality, and engine performance. The flagship SUV, the XC90, received high accolades such as ‘Superb Sweden Style’ and ‘A Masterpiece of Interior Design’.

Meanwhile, the Volvo SUV lineup recorded total sales of 6,991 units in 2022, accounting for approximately 48% of the brand’s overall sales. With designs infused with Scandinavian sensitivity, advanced safety features such as TMAP infotainment service, Pilot Assist, City Safety, and collision avoidance systems have ensured strong sales across all segments.
