Bentley Plans Tech Partnership with Korean Companies by Year-End

Bentley is expected to collaborate with a South Korean company on technology by the end of the year.

Adrian Hallmark, Chairman of Bentley, stated during a meeting with reporters on the 8th, “I will come to Korea again before the end of this year. We will establish a technical partnership with Korean companies.”

Bentley Korea held a media event to commemorate the opening of the Bentley Cube in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the 8th. The media event was attended by Adrian Hallmark and Niko Kuhlman, head of the Asia-Pacific region, along with other headquarters personnel.

When asked by reporters whether this visit was related to electric vehicle technology collaboration, Chairman Hallmark emphasized, “I plan to visit Korea within the year for partnerships with technological firms in Korea.” It seems the collaboration will be with battery companies.

As European luxury makers such as BMW and Porsche have formed battery supply partnerships with Samsung SDI to launch electric vehicles, Bentley is also planning strategic partnerships with domestic battery technology companies for the launch of pure electric vehicles.

Chairman Hallmark expressed a strong desire for luxury electric vehicles, stating, “We will create sustainable luxury cars.” Additionally, he mentioned that “the Crewe factory in the UK has already been recognized as a carbon-neutral factory,” and that, “we will invest £2.5 billion to ensure that we only produce fully electric vehicles starting in 2025,” expressing a strong commitment to carbon neutrality.
