Get Ready for INTERBattery 2023: Korea’s Premier Battery Expo

The Coex and the Korea Battery Industry Association announced that ‘INTERBattery 2023’ will be held from the 15th to the 17th for three days at Coex in Seoul.

Organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Battery Industry Association, along with Coex and KOTRA, INTERBattery is the only global battery exhibition featuring all three of the world’s top battery manufacturers: LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI, and SK On, who together hold a 23.2% share of the global market.

In addition, global representatives from various fields of battery manufacturing processes, such as EcoPro BM/ LN & F (cathode materials), Posco Chemical (anode materials), SK Nexilis (copper foil), Korea Zinc (refining), LS Group/ABB/Rockwell Automation (process automation, etc.), will participate, showcasing new products and technologies across 1,400 booths with more than 450 domestic and international companies, a twofold increase compared to the previous year.

During the INTERBattery 2023 event, the electric vehicle exhibition ‘EV Trend Korea’ (organized by the Ministry of Environment and managed by Coex and the Korea Battery Industry Association) will also take place simultaneously, featuring 100 companies and 500 booths.

As the first eco-friendly mobility exhibition held in Korea this year, ‘EV Trend Korea’ will showcase major companies from the fields of complete vehicles and commercial vehicles (Hyundai, Kia, Volvo Trucks, etc.), small mobility (Gen Station, Gentrube, etc.), charging stations and infrastructure (Chaebi, ModernTech, SS Charger), presenting various technologies.

This year, the event will enhance experiential programs that allow visitors to experience EV life directly through side events such as △ Electric Vehicle Racing ‘EV Eco Rally’, △ ‘Test Ride of Electric Two-Wheelers’, and △ ‘EV Live Show’.

Various side events will also be held during the INTERBattery 2023 exhibition. ‘The Battery Conference’ will consist of 18 sessions covering materials, manufacturing, application, and battery reuse/recycling, featuring 22 leading global experts as speakers.

Programs for students and job seekers looking to enter the battery industry will also be organized. There will be job presentations by nine representative battery companies, including Samsung SDI, SK On, EcoPro BM, and Korea Umicoa, along with a 1:1 job mentoring program with professionals working in domestic and international battery-related companies, running throughout the three days.

Additionally, ‘Secondary Battery Global Partnering Consultation’ will be held simultaneously, providing participants with practical opportunities for overseas expansion, where export consultations will take place between participating companies and overseas buyers invited by KOTRA in the B Hall exhibition area of Coex on the 15th and 16th.

According to the exhibition officials, “We have prepared to showcase the latest innovative battery trends all in one place, with a scale that has more than doubled compared to last year,” adding, “Visitors will be able to confirm the competitiveness of Korean companies that are gaining global attention based on their technological prowess.”
