Unveiling the New BMW Z4: A Blend of Style and Performance

BMW Korea officially launches the New Z4 in the domestic market.

The BMW Z4 has been a representative 2-seat roadster model since its debut at the Paris Motor Show in Autumn 2002, providing true driving pleasure rooted in the sensibility of open-air driving and dynamic handling for over 20 years.

The latest New Z4 is a third-generation facelift model and will be available in two variations in Korea: the New Z4 sDrive20i M Sport Package and the M Performance model, the New Z4 M40i. With its classic black fabric soft top, dynamic exterior, and advanced yet luxurious interior design, it promises the ultimate driving experience combined with exceptional driving performance and cutting-edge driving assistance systems.

The New Z4 showcases a sporty and crisp exterior adorned with diverse design elements that reveal a distinct character. The front features a newly designed kidney grille that enhances its bold presence. The LED headlights extend along the body’s edges while the sleek hood stretches above the wheel arches, emphasizing the New Z4’s width. Additionally, two crisp character lines run along the side, providing a more dynamic and aggressive look.

The aggressive design continues with large air intakes, an integrated rear spoiler on the trunk, slim L-shaped rear lights, and a rear diffuser that amplify the appeal of a classic roadster. The timeless power-operated fabric top incorporates an anthracite silver effect material, combining elegance and emotional appeal. The roof opens and closes automatically within 10 seconds up to speeds of 50 km/h with just a button touch.

The interior is designed with the driver in mind, offering enhanced standard specifications compared to previous models. Each version features Vernasca leather upholstery, aluminum tetragon interior trim, M sports seats with integrated headrests, and an M leather steering wheel, exuding a dynamic yet luxurious atmosphere. Practicality is enhanced with extended storage compartments, cup holders located under the center armrest, large pockets, and a wind deflector.

The BMW New Z4 is available in two engine options for the domestic market. First, the New Z4 sDrive20i is equipped with BMW TwinPower Turbo 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, producing a maximum output of 197 horsepower and peak torque of 32.6 kg·m, reaching 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds.

The New Z4 M40i features a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine with M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology, delivering a robust 387 horsepower and peak torque of 50.9 kg·m, achieving 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in as little as 4.1 seconds. Additionally, all models are paired with the latest 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission for optimal performance.

The New Z4’s chassis, designed for a 50:50 weight distribution and low center of gravity, coupled with efficient aerodynamic design, provides agility along with precise handling. The chassis technology combines a double-joint spring strut axle at the front with a 5-link rear axle, harmonizing nimble driving performance with a comfortable ride.

Moreover, the standard model features M sports suspension, while the New Z4 M40i is equipped with adaptive M suspension and M sports brakes with red calipers for more refined and stable driving.

The BMW New Z4 is loaded with various driver assistance systems designed to support safe and precise driving. All models come equipped with a BMW Head-Up Display allowing intuitive access to various information while driving, as well as advanced driver assistance features including front collision warning, pedestrian warning, lane departure warning, driving assistant functions, and a parking assistant with automatic steering.

Additionally, the dashboard features a 10.25-inch instrument display and a touch control display, and the BMW Live Cockpit Professional and BMW Connected Package Professional are included as standard. Comfort features such as comfort access, power seats with memory function, through-loading system, storage compartment package, and 2-zone air conditioning are also provided.

Furthermore, the New Z4 M40i comes with active cruise control featuring stop-and-go functionality, a Harman Kardon surround sound system, and high-beam assistant.
