Tmap Mobility Launches Innovative Monthly Car Rental Service in South Korea

Tmap Mobility announced on the 13th that it has launched a monthly car rental service. The mobility platform, which allows monthly rentals and overseas booking services, is the only one of its kind in Korea.

The monthly rental service is literally a service that allows rental on a monthly basis. With the ability to rent a car flexibly from a minimum of one month to twelve months, it reduces the financial burden compared to traditional long-term rentals, which typically span 2-3 years, while making it easily accessible.

Users can check car models and prices in real-time through the mobile Tmap application, and payments can be made immediately without a separate consultation process, enhancing consumer convenience. Cars can be released for pickup the day after payment, and deliveries can also be arranged.

The number of countries available for international car rental bookings has significantly increased. Last year, the service expanded from six countries, including the USA, Canada, Japan, and Australia, to include 23 European countries and Taiwan, allowing rentals from a total of 30 countries. This effectively means worldwide rental car reservations are now possible.

An analysis of overseas rental car reservation usage by Tmap Mobility from April last year to February this year revealed that Japan accounted for the highest usage at 63%. This is attributed to a rise in travelers heading to Japan due to visa-free entry and a favorable Yen exchange rate. Following Japan were Guam (USA) and Saipan (USA) with 29% and 8% respectively.

Kim Do-hyun, head of New Business at Tmap Mobility, stated, “Since launching our car rental service in collaboration with the global rental car brokerage platform, Camoa, Tmap Mobility has been continuously expanding its services. We will strive to enhance the user experience in the car rental sector to provide convenience for travelers.”
