The New Mercedes-AMG SL: A Luxurious Roadster Reborn for the Modern Era

Mercedes-Benz Korea has revealed the lineup and pricing for the completely revamped 7th generation luxury roadster SL, named ‘The New Mercedes-AMG SL,’ which is set to officially launch in April.

The SL has evolved over 70 years since the legendary racing car 300 SL debuted in 1952, solidifying its position as the world’s most successful luxury roadster icon.

The 7th generation ‘The New Mercedes-AMG SL’ combines powerful AMG driving performance with practicality for comfortable everyday use. It will be launched in two versions in Korea: ‘The New Mercedes-AMG SL 63 4MATIC+’ and ‘The New Mercedes-AMG SL 63 4MATIC+ Performance,’ with the domestic debut planned for the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show.

About 70 years ago, Mercedes-Benz produced the first SL, a road-going racing sports car, based on a vision to expand the brand’s potential. Shortly after its debut in 1952, the 300 SL (W194) garnered a remarkable victory in the legendary Le Mans 24-hour race, sweeping the first and second places and dominating the sports car category at the Nürburgring Grand Jubilee.
