GS Global is partnering with T Map Mobility to equip the T4K electric truck with the first-ever dedicated navigation for commercial vehicles, featuring T Map’s navigation system and SK Telecom’s AI platform, NUGU.
As the official importer of BYD, a company renowned for its high technology and extensive experience in electric vehicle manufacturing, GS Global is set to launch the T4K one-ton electric truck early next month.
The T4K will feature a smart pad manufactured directly by BYD as part of its internal display. To develop a navigation system optimized for local road conditions, GS Global has signed an MOU with T Map Mobility to create a navigation system for commercial vehicles and to collaborate on EV-related business operations, focusing on the EV-exclusive navigation system and the development of voice recognition-based AI services with SK Telecom.
GS Global plans to introduce the first EV-exclusive navigation and voice recognition-based AI service in a commercial vehicle shortly. The T Map navigation system will provide various functionalities, including optimal charging route guidance, while NUGU will deliver voice recognition services.
This collaboration reflects the growing preference of Korean consumers for smartphone navigation. GS Global is focused on enhancing user convenience for the T4K by incorporating the T Map navigation system, which has established itself as the leading navigation choice in Korea, addressing consumer feedback on vehicle navigation systems that historically lagged behind in map accuracy, information depth, response speed, and updates.
A representative from GS Global’s mobility division stated, “By collaborating with T Map Mobility, Korea’s leading navigation provider, we will offer commercial vehicle customers an efficient and convenient driving environment through dedicated EV navigation and AI services. We intend to strengthen our partnership with T Map Mobility and SK Telecom to continually expand our electric commercial vehicle lineup.”
Meanwhile, GS Global has released a second teaser video for the one-ton electric truck, T4K, boosting anticipation for its launch. With this introduction, GS Global is set to accelerate the adoption of electric commercial vehicles.
