Aston Martin Unveils the DBS 770 Ultimate: The Pinnacle of Performance and Luxury

Aston Martin unveiled the ‘DBS 770 Ultimate’ on the 18th (local time). This DBS 770 Ultimate is the final version elegantly adorning the flagship DBS line that has represented Aston Martin since 2018, combining the exceptional performance of a V12 twin-turbo engine with a sophisticated style.

The DBS 770 Ultimate is the last runner in Aston Martin’s Super GT flagship, reborn as the most powerful model in history, enhanced through improved speed, performance, design, and engineering.

Produced in a limited quantity of 499 units, comprising 300 coupes and 199 Volantes, the DBS 770 Ultimate has completed its pre-sale before launch.

The DBS 770 Ultimate features a 5.2-liter V12 engine equipped with Aston Martin’s quad camshafts, achieving a maximum output of 770 horsepower (6500 rpm), maximum torque of 900 Nm (1800 rpm to 5000 rpm), and a top speed of 340 km/h. The engine has been redesigned for air and ignition pathways to increase maximum turbo boost pressure by 7%.

The vehicle is powered through ZF’s 8-speed automatic transmission and a mechanically limited-slip differential mounted at the rear, enhancing driver interaction during gear shifts through unique transmission calibration. For brakes, it adopts carbon-ceramic brakes with sizes of 410mm x 38mm at the front and 360mm x 32mm at the rear, just like the existing DBS.

The DBS 770 Ultimate is equipped with a new solid mount steering column that enhances steering response and precision, providing a more refined driving experience. To achieve improved steering responsiveness, the front cross member and rear undertray have been reinforced, increasing front-end side stiffness by 25% and twisting rigidity by 3%. Additionally, the damping control system (ADS, Adaptive Damping System) has been improved, maintaining excellent ride quality through unique damper calibration and control software.

The DBS 770 Ultimate clearly commemorates the end of the DBS era with its unique aesthetics, taking performance into account. It features a new front splitter connecting two external vents and a horseshoe-shaped air vent on the clamshell hood, increasing airflow to the engine radiator, enhancing cooling performance, while reflecting the signature design of existing DBS and V12 models.

Additional design elements include the 2×2 twill carbon fiber cantrails, windscreen surrounds, mirror caps, and fender louvres. The new carbon fiber sill visually lowers the side of the vehicle towards the rear wheels, emphasizing the unique form of the DBS. The uniquely designed rear diffuser maintains aerodynamic balance across the bodywork, ensuring stability at both front and rear.

The DBS 770 Ultimate showcases three types of 21-inch multi-spoke wheels inspired by the Aston Martin Valkyrie and Victor. Options include bright and vibrant satin silver, modern and sporty full satin black, and a darker yet sophisticated satin black diamond-cut wheel. Pirelli’s high-performance tires, ‘P Zero,’ are standard on all rims.

The interior design integrates new attempts based on the distinctive design of the existing DBS. The DBS 770 Ultimate features sports plus seats covered in semi-aniline leather and Alcantara, with the option of Aston Martin’s performance seats. The DBS 770 Ultimate logo is laser etched on the custom strap and buckle badge, also found in the center armrest. Carbon fiber gearshift paddles are standard.

The interior section includes a plate set engraved with the Aston Martin wing emblem, the DBS 770 Ultimate logo, and a limited edition number indicating whether the vehicle is one of 300 coupes or 199 Volantes. Additionally, similar to existing Aston Martin vehicles, there are various customization options offered by ‘Aston Martin Q,’ including unique graphic liveries, painted wheels, tinted carbon fiber and woven leather seat inserts, trim inlays, and a carbon fiber steering wheel.

Roberto Fedeli, Aston Martin’s Chief Technical Officer, stated, “A model commemorating the end of an iconic series needs to be special,” and added, “The DBS 770 Ultimate, being the crowning model of the flagship series, boasts the best performance in DBS history, providing exceptional speed and driving feel through comprehensive improvements in transmission, steering, suspension, and underbody.”

Marek Reichman, Chief Creative Officer of Aston Martin, said, “To live up to the reputation of Aston Martin’s flagship line, we carefully and meticulously embodied superior performance and sophistication into the DBS 770 Ultimate. The wild yet beautiful design elements of the DBS 770 Ultimate, starting from the raised front-end form, are perfectly balanced with upgraded performance.”

Production of the DBS 770 Ultimate is expected to begin in the first quarter, with customer deliveries set to begin in the third quarter. The price of the DBS 770 starts from around 500 million won.
