The GMC Sierra Denali: A Premium Pickup That Captivates in Just Two Days

General Motors achieved full sales of its first model, the oversized pickup truck Sierra, merely two days after launching online contracts on the 7th.

Carlos Minert, Vice President of Sales and Service at GM Korea, stated, “The strong response from customers to the GMC Sierra upon launch reflects the success of our premium strategy targeted at a niche market. We are currently proceeding with additional shipments, ensuring quick vehicle deliveries will continue.”

The GMC Sierra, the flagship model of the brand, is the first full-size pickup truck officially launched in Korea, reflecting GM’s philosophy to deliver a true American premium brand experience while providing a wide range of vehicle choices for local customers. In Korea, it is sold solely as the high-end Denali trim.

In true American pickup truck fashion, the Sierra boasts a full box frame body, powerful performance, towing capacity, convenience, and practicality, along with advanced luxury features that have garnered significant interest from domestic customers even before its release. GMC launched its campaign with the niche-market target message, ‘Be the One,’ which echoes a sentiment of being a must-have for the 1% while leaving a strong question mark over the 99%.

The Sierra has been available for contract via the GMC website since the 7th. Customers can experience the vehicle firsthand at 11 major GMC zones nationwide, with customer deliveries to be carried out sequentially.

Customers purchasing the Sierra will be provided with the GMC Premium Care service, including the operation of service centers. Through GMC Premium Care, Sierra buyers can enjoy express services for routine inspections and basic consumable replacements (for a period of 3 years or 60,000 km) without the need for prior reservations. Furthermore, an unlimited pickup and delivery service for repairs can be utilized within the warranty period at the customer’s desired location.

A consumable replacement package service that includes free replacements of engine oil (5 times), air conditioning filters (3 times), and other consumables is offered. Additionally, GMC operates a dedicated call center for the brand and currently has 52 GMC service centers, with plans to expand to 84 nationwide by the first half of 2023 to establish a comprehensive domestic service network.
