MAN Truck & Bus Donates €1 Million for Turkey-Syria Earthquake Relief

MAN Truck & Bus has donated €1 million to support relief efforts for the victims of the Turkey-Syria earthquake.

The donation from MAN Truck will be used for emergency relief supplies for the victims of the Turkey-Syria earthquake. In addition, they plan to support various vehicles, including five fire trucks, to assist aid organizations actively working on-site.

Alexander Blaßkamp, Chairman of MAN Truck, stated, “Since 1966, MAN has operated a production facility in Ankara, maintaining a close relationship with Turkey for decades. Notably, the Ankara plant plays a significant role as the first production facility outside of Germany,” adding, “MAN will actively collaborate to overcome the disaster more quickly on humanitarian grounds.”

Meanwhile, MAN Truck is providing proactive support for disaster recovery by utilizing the equipment and personnel from the Ankara plant.

MAN Truck’s Turkey branch, based in Ankara, has cooperated with local disaster control offices to transport relief supplies to the affected areas using MAN buses and MAN TGE vehicles, safely evacuating hundreds of family members and relatives of MAN employees in the earthquake-affected area to Ankara. In this transportation operation, MAN employees directly participated as drivers for relief activities.

Additionally, the MAN headquarters in Germany has established a special organization for disaster support, and Chairman Blaßkamp personally visited the Ankara production facility with Michael Kobrig, Head of Production and Logistics at MAN, to assess the situation on-site and discuss activities to support the Turkish team.

Blaßkamp expressed, “We extend our deepest condolences to all the victims of this earthquake. I also want to thank the dedicated efforts of MAN employees who have worked tirelessly to aid the victims over the past few days.”
