Toyota Korea has appointed Manabu Koniyama as the new President, succeeding Nobuyuki Takemura.

Manabu Koniyama has held various leadership roles at Toyota since joining in 1990, where he has worked in research, dealership network development, and sales and operational strategy in international markets.

Since 1990, he has been responsible for economic research and overseas market analysis in the research department, and he has handled the development of dealership networks in Japan along with long-term sales planning for overseas markets.

From 2011 to 2016, he served at FAW Toyota, a joint venture between Toyota and China FAW Group, where he became Vice President in 2013. He later took charge of sales strategy for the Chinese market in Japan and most recently managed the East Asia region, including Korea and Oceania, from 2019 until now.

Koniyama expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am delighted to be working in the dynamic auto market of Korea, where consumers are seeking new trends. Based on my past experiences, I aim to ensure Toyota and Lexus are loved by every single customer in Korea.”

Former President Nobuyuki Takemura has returned to Japan after concluding his five-year tenure in Korea.
