Volvo Group Korea Unveils the New P2820D: A Compact Asphalt Paver for Urban Streets

Volvo Group Korea is launching the compact asphalt paver P2820D in the domestic market.

The P2820D ABG is one of the smallest models in Volvo Construction Equipment’s lineup, enhancing customer convenience with its high versatility in medium and small scale road paving projects in urban areas.

The Volvo Construction Equipment P2820D offers a wide selection of paving widths from a minimum of 1.5m to a maximum of 4.5m, utilizing the low-noise VB30 and VB40 vibrating screeds. Along with its powerful capabilities that rival larger asphalt pavers, the P2820D’s low-noise screed ensures agile movement and quiet operation, making it suitable for various applications on city roads.

Moreover, as a product manufactured in Germany along with the existing P6820D and P7820D, it has the same operating mode and is compatible with existing sensors such as ▲grade sensors, ▲slope sensors, and ▲auger sensors.

The Volvo Group Korea P2820D is a crawler-type ABG track paver that features tracks extended by 150mm compared to previous models, enhancing traction and straight-line stability. Equipped with Volvo’s environmentally friendly D3.8H engine that meets EU STAGE 5 standards and featuring an ECO mode, it allows for fuel savings and reduced carbon emissions.

In addition, the P2820D will be released in the domestic road equipment market with state-of-the-art specifications, considering customer convenience, such as ▲automatic track tensioning device, ▲enhanced side panel functionality, and a comfortable driving seat with ample storage space.

Im Jae-tak, Vice President of the Domestic Sales and Service Division of Volvo Construction Equipment, stated, “The newly launched compact asphalt paver P2820D is expected to greatly enhance customer convenience while working in urban areas due to its differentiated versatility,” and added, “We will continue to strive to provide excellent products that can be widely used in domestic work sites and customer-centered services.”
