On December 17, BMW Korea held a delivery ceremony for the first New i7 vehicles at the BMW Driving Center in Yeongjongdo, Incheon.

The BMW New i7 is the brand’s first pure electric flagship sedan, equipped with luxurious interiors and exteriors, along with innovative digital features. Samsung has received ten units of the New i7 for use as executive vehicles for its affiliates.

The delivery ceremony, held on December 17, was attended by Oliver Zipse, Chairman of BMW Group, Jean-Philippe Parain, Senior Vice President of BMW Group for Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Sang-Yun Han, CEO of BMW Group Korea, along with Samsung’s Lee Jae-Yong, Chairman of Samsung Electronics, Choi Yun-Ho, CEO of Samsung SDI, and Park Jin, Vice President of Samsung SDI.

Oliver Zipse stated, “The BMW Group takes great pride in partnering with the automotive and cutting-edge technology companies in Korea, and we will continue to explore the technological potential of our partners to bring unprecedented innovation to our vehicles.” He added, “Samsung is one of our most important partners in electrification, and having Samsung executives with our latest technological marvel, the new BMW i7, carries significant symbolism.”

Lee Jae-Yong expressed, “We are delighted to partner with BMW,” and emphasized the importance of reinforcing cooperation between the two companies.

Choi Yun-Ho remarked, “Samsung SDI takes pride in participating in the development of BMW’s luxury electric sedan, the New i7, as a strategic partner. Through our collaboration, we will set new standards in the electric vehicle and battery sectors.”

Meanwhile, the New i7, which was launched in Korea on December 16, is the first pure electric model of the BMW 7 Series, characterized by its overwhelming presence, luxurious aesthetics, and a new dimension of luxury that provides an exceptional digital experience.

The BMW New i7 xDrive60 delivered by Samsung features the latest fifth-generation BMW eDrive system, delivering a maximum output of 544 horsepower through two electric motors. It is equipped with a total capacity 105.7 kWh high-voltage battery supplied by Samsung SDI, providing a driving range of 438 km on a single charge.
