Toyota Korea Donates Over 5,200 Books to Underprivileged Communities

Toyota Korea has donated over 5,200 books collected through the ‘Book Donation Campaign’ at Connect2 to the non-profit organization ThanksGive.

The ‘Book Donation Campaign’, now in its eighth year, is a social contribution program that collects donated books from visitors at Connect2, a multi-cultural space of Lexus, and delivers them to those in need. This year, in addition to Toyota and Lexus customers, employees from Toyota Financial Services Korea, official dealers nationwide, and Toyota Korea participated in the campaign, adding more meaning to the initiative.

The number of donated books increased to over 5,200, about 2.5 times more than last year, and will be delivered to small study rooms, small public libraries, and rural area libraries lacking in resources through the non-profit reading promotion organization ThanksGive.

Lee Byung-jin, Senior Executive at Toyota Korea, stated, “I feel a great sense of accomplishment as employees from Toyota and Lexus dealers across the country and local customers have united in one heart to participate in the Book Donation Campaign, which aims to provide more opportunities for children and teenagers to read.” He added, “Toyota Korea aims to continuously engage in various social contribution activities with Toyota and Lexus dealers nationwide to become a contributing corporate citizen and be loved by Korean society.”

Meanwhile, in November, Toyota Korea engaged in the ‘2022 Toyota Lexus Love Share Kimjang Event’ with 16 official Toyota and Lexus dealers, employees of Toyota Financial Services Korea, and Toyota weekend farmers, delivering 18 tons (approximately 6,000 heads) of kimchi to welfare centers and to the social welfare organization ‘Anna’s House’, continuing its diverse social contribution efforts with its dealers to contribute to Korean society.
