Hyundai’s Remarkable Sales Milestone: 6,000 Cars Sold by Kim Seong-gon!

A new star has emerged as Hyundai Motor Company celebrates its fifth milestone achievement of 6,000 total car sales since the implementation of the ‘Sales Honor Award System’.

On the 8th, Hyundai announced that Kim Seong-gon, a 58-year-old sales executive from the Masan Dongbu branch (located in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do), achieved a remarkable 6,000 cumulative vehicle sales as of the close on October 12, 2022.

Having joined Hyundai in 1989, Kim Seong-gon has reached this impressive milestone after 33 years of dedicated service in the sales field. Only four individuals have achieved 6,000 cumulative sales since the inception of the Sales Honor Award System at Hyundai, with Kim being the fifth.

The title of ‘Sales Master’ is awarded to exemplary sales employees who surpass 5,000 cumulative sales at Hyundai’s sales points. Kim Seong-gon earned this prestigious title back in 2018 after achieving his first 5,000 sales.

Kim expressed his gratitude, stating, “I consider it an immense honor to reach 6,000 cumulative sales. In my early days as a newcomer, I visited customers so diligently that I wore out the soles of my shoes in a month. The moment I signed my first contract based on trust with a customer is still vivid in my memory. I would like to thank the 6,000 customers I have met and my colleagues who have always supported and encouraged me.”

He added, “Just like the saying goes, ‘a falling drop of water wears away a stone,’ my consistent efforts to win the hearts of customers and build trust have paid off. My sales secrets are sincerity and authenticity.”

Kim stated, “As a member of Hyundai, a leader in the global mobility industry, I take pride and commitment to continue realizing the value of customer satisfaction from the front lines of sales.”

Hyundai operates various reward systems such as the Sales Honor Award, National Sales Championship, and The Class Awards to encourage employees working diligently in dealerships throughout the country and foster healthy sales competition.

The Sales Honor Award system rewards employees who reach cumulative sales milestones: the title of ‘Sales Artisan’ for 2,000 sales, ‘Sales Master’ for 3,000, ‘Sales Specialist’ for 4,000, and ‘Sales Master’ for 5,000 sales.

The ‘National Sales Champion’ and ‘The Class Awards’ are events where Hyundai recognizes the top sales employees for their annual performance. The ‘National Sales Champion’ selects the top 1-10 employees based on annual sales, while ‘The Class Awards’ reward employees in different sales brackets based on their annual sales results.

Hyundai representatives stated, “We will continue to operate diverse reward systems to motivate sales employees and encourage healthy competition among staff.”
