The Rising Stars of the Automotive Market: Insights from Encar’s Big Data Analysis

According to a big data analysis based on search inquiries within the Encar.com platform, it was found that men in their 30s and 50s in Seoul show the most interest in the BMW 5 Series, while young adults in their 20s of both genders tend to prefer the Hyundai Avante.

Encar.com provides information on the most searched models by gender, region, and age group through its big data recommendation service.

The big data research results showed that the proportion of views for domestic cars was overwhelmingly high overall, with consumers in the Seoul area showing the most interest in foreign cars. Women showed relatively higher interest in domestic cars compared to men.

Among the main purchasing demographic of consumers aged 30 and up, it was confirmed that men in their 30s to 50s in Seoul viewed the BMW 5 Series (F10) the most. Following them, the Jeju region showed high interest in imported cars, particularly where men aged 40 and older frequently searched for the BMW 5 Series (F10) and the BMW 3 Series (F30), while women in their 40s showed the most interest in the Genesis G80.

Furthermore, 40-year-old men and 50-year-old women in Gwangju were found to be searching for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class W223 the most. Women generally showed high interest in the Avante model, but in some areas, searches for the Kia Ray and Hyundai Kona were more prominent.

In the case of individuals in their 20s, both genders were most interested in the reasonably priced Hyundai Avante AD. Among them, men in their 20s, excluding Gwangju, most frequently searched for the Hyundai Avante AD across other regions. Additionally, for men in their 40s, searches for the Kia All-New Carnival were most common in Busan, Incheon, Chungnam/Chungbuk, Gyeongnam/Gyeongbuk, and Daegu.

An Encar.com representative stated, “For those in their 20s to 30s, interest in reasonably priced entry-level cars like the Avante and Ray has continued for several years,” and added, “The Encar big data recommendation service helps users gain insights into various models of interest and their characteristics, serving as an indicator of overall trends in the used car market.”
