Experience the Future of Driving: Test the New XM3 E-TECH Hybrid in Busan

Renault Korea Motors is operating an XM3 E-TECH Hybrid test drive program with the city of Busan until the 18th.

This test drive program is being conducted for the general public at the Busan City Hall, available on weekdays from 10 AM to 5 PM until the 18th. Participants can register at the reception desk near the citizen reception room located in the Busan City Hall lobby. In addition to the general public test drive program, there is also a separate test drive program for city officials and city hall personnel during the same period.

The test drive route starts from Busan City Hall, passing through World Cup Boulevard and Yangjeong Station, covering about 5 km in an urban area. This allows participants to experience the driving characteristics of the XM3 E-TECH Hybrid, which can operate in electric vehicle mode up to 75% in urban areas.

The XM3 E-TECH Hybrid is equipped with a hybrid drive system that applies the hybrid technology know-how from Renault’s F1 machines, making it one of the closest alternatives to an electric vehicle. This system features an ‘EV mode button’ that enables 100% electric driving for certain distances based on battery capacity and speed, alongside a ‘B-mode’ that provides enhanced battery charging through engine braking-like deceleration when the accelerator pedal is released.

The E-TECH hybrid system of the XM3 consists of a dual-motor system combining a driving electric motor (36kW / 205Nm) and a high-voltage starter motor (15kW / 50Nm) that also serves as a power generator. It works in conjunction with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine optimized for hybrid performance and a clutchless multi-mode gearbox, delivering both high energy efficiency and dynamic driving performance.
