A Swing Above the Rest: Highlights from the 2022 Lexus Ladies Long Drive Championship

Lexus Korea successfully held the ‘2022 Lexus Ladies Long Drive Championship’ at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Songdo, Incheon, in partnership with SBS Golf on the 14th.

The ‘Lexus Ladies Long Drive Championship,’ which was held for the first time in three years, is a women’s long drive competition organized by Lexus Korea to share the luxury lifestyle since 2016.

Amateur golfers could participate in the preliminary rounds, which took place from October 5 to 26. Over 320,000 amateur male and female golfers took part across the nation, including around 43,000 women, generating an enthusiastic response.

The finals featured the top 32 amateur female golfers selected from the preliminaries, who fiercely competed for the title of long drive queen. The ultimate winner this year was Kim Min-ji (31), who recorded a distance of 204.4 meters (223.5 yards) in the final round, earning the champion’s trophy and a cash prize of 10 million won.

The event also showcased the newly launched Lexus NX 450h+, the brand’s first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model, along with the flagship sedan LS 500h, while offering short test drive courses and various other activities.

Kang Dae-hwan, Executive Director of Lexus Korea, remarked, “This year’s Lexus Ladies Long Drive Championship was held with more interest and higher competition than ever before,” and added, “Lexus will continue to strengthen its activities aimed at sharing the luxury lifestyle.”
