Introducing the All-New Grand Cherokee: Jeep’s Luxury Flagship SUV is Here!

Jeep begins pre-orders for the ‘All-New Grand Cherokee’ and ‘All-New Grand Cherokee 4xe’ ahead of their domestic launch in December.

The ‘All-New Grand Cherokee’, completely transformed into its fifth generation, introduced the brand’s first model with a third-row seat, the ‘All-New Grand Cherokee L’, in Korea last November. It has been acclaimed for its luxurious interior and exterior design, as well as its spacious seating for 6-7 passengers, ushering in a new era for premium SUVs. By adding the five-seat ‘All-New Grand Cherokee’ and the plug-in hybrid powertrain of the ‘All-New Grand Cherokee 4xe’, Jeep aims to complete its lineup of luxury flagship SUVs and continue its legacy.

The ‘All-New Grand Cherokee’ will be released in two trims: Limited and Overland, while the plug-in hybrid model ‘All-New Grand Cherokee 4xe’ will be available in Limited and Summit Reserve trims.

The exterior marks the birth of the most luxurious Grand Cherokee in history. The wider, larger seven-slot grille iconic to Jeep and the newly designed front fascia embody advanced technology. The sloping roofline, maintaining spaciousness without compromising utility, enhances aerodynamics and efficiency, while the lower beltline and expanded glass allow more light into the interior and improve outward visibility.

The interior has evolved with handcrafted materials and modern conveniences. The front panel features a redesigned center stack to increase driver accessibility and a 10.25-inch color cluster display. The T-map navigation system, preferred by domestic consumers, is applied to a 10.1-inch touch screen display to enhance customer convenience.

Over 110 driving safety features have been incorporated to uphold the reputation of a premium SUV. Features such as adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection emergency braking system, blind spot and rear cross-path monitoring systems, full-speed forward collision warning plus system, and active lane management system are applied as standard to enhance safety. Trims above Overland incorporate a 360-degree surround-view camera and head-up display, and like the All-New Grand Cherokee L, it includes a premium audio system from McIntosh, allowing for a concert hall ambiance inside the vehicle.

The ‘All-New Grand Cherokee’ comes with a V6 3.6L gasoline engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Depending on the trim, it includes Quadra-Trac I and Quadra-Trac II 4×4 systems. From the Overland trim onwards, Jeep’s Quadra-Lift air suspension equipped with electronic semi-active damping assures stable driving across any terrain.

The ‘All-New Grand Cherokee 4xe’ is Jeep’s plug-in hybrid vehicle showcased in its journey towards a zero-emission freedom vision. In Korea, it follows the Wrangler 4xe as the second PHEV vehicle to be introduced. It boasts a perfect balance of on-road dynamics and 4×4 capability, heralding a new electrified era for Jeep.

The All-New Grand Cherokee 4xe was honored to be named among the ‘2023 Green 4×4′ by the influential industry publication, Green Car Journal. The 4xe represents a natural evolution of Jeep’s 4×4 leadership, scoring high in terms of new dimensions of efficiency, environmental responsibility, and performance, both on and off-road. The All-New Grand Cherokee 4xe offers exceptional trail capabilities while being able to travel up to 48 kilometers (WLTP standard) in electric mode alone, meeting today’s consumers’ diverse demands.

Abroad, where the ‘All-New Grand Cherokee’ has already been launched, it has received rave reviews.

The global automotive magazine Motor1 expressed, “Its interior space is superior as it is larger than most competing cars. The adaptive air suspension provides comfort on the highway while maintaining the unique performance required off-road.”

The U.S. automotive magazine The Drive noted, “Magic happens when the 4xe is running in pure electric mode. Everything changes in ‘EV’ mode. Even off-road, the electric mode is remarkably smooth, acting like a confident and assured athlete.”

The prices are set at 85.5 million KRW for the ‘All-New Grand Cherokee’ Limited, 93.5 million KRW for the Overland, and 103.2 million KRW for the ‘All-New Grand Cherokee 4xe’ Limited, with the Summit Reserve priced at 121.2 million KRW (tax included). Jeep plans to offer generous benefits for pre-orders starting on the 23rd, including a complimentary electric side step worth 1 million KRW, a Jeep premium golf bag set, and immediate delivery options.

Jake Aumann, CEO of Stellantis Korea, stated, “The All-New Grand Cherokee and 4xe exemplify Jeep’s advanced technology and premium value, representing the brand’s luxury flagship SUV. The All-New Grand Cherokee 4xe, the second model introduced to the Korean market, will strengthen Jeep’s zero-emission freedom vision while expanding consumer choices, allowing more customers to experience eco-friendly Jeep vehicles.”
