Volvo Car Korea Empowers Children with Disabilities Through Generous Donation

On the 22nd, Volvo Car Korea held a donation agreement ceremony at the Songpa exhibition hall in Seoul with the Purme Foundation, donating 300 million KRW for assistive device support programs for children with disabilities.

Since 2017, Volvo Car Korea has been collaborating with the Purme Foundation to provide tailored assistive devices for children and adolescents with disabilities caused by congenital factors or unexpected accidents, helping them in rehabilitation and independence. This year’s initiative marks the sixth, having previously supported approximately 600 children and adolescents with disabilities by ensuring their right to healthy mobility.

The donated funds will be used for providing custom assistive devices for 100 children and adolescents with disabilities under the age of 18, as well as operational costs for a children’s rehabilitation hospital. Applications for recommendations can be submitted through social welfare organizations until December 15, and further details on the support can be found on the Purme Foundation’s website.

CEO Lee Yoon-mo of Volvo Car Korea stated, “Through this initiative, I hope that more children and adolescents with disabilities, along with their families, receive guaranteed healthy mobility and can accumulate diverse activities and experiences. We plan to expand our social contribution activities in various ways for a safe and healthy Korean society in the future.”
