Polestar Celebrates Production of 100,000th Polestar 2 Vehicle

Polestar has produced its 100,000th Polestar 2 vehicle.

This milestone in the production of the Polestar 2 comes just two and a half years after the brand began production in mid-2020, with the 100,000th vehicle set to be delivered to a customer in Ireland.

The milestone Polestar 2 has a unique label ‘No.100 000’ attached to the lower part of the driver’s door, celebrating this achievement, and comes in the same Thunder color as the first Polestar 2 delivered to customers back in July 2020, along with 19-inch wheels and a charcoal-colored interior.

Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath stated, “Despite the challenging global circumstances due to the pandemic, we launched the Polestar 2 and achieved remarkable results.” He expressed gratitude to all the teams at Polestar and the customers who joined them on this exciting journey.

The Polestar 2 boasts Scandinavian minimalistic design and luxurious vegan interior, equipped with Google Android OS-based infotainment (the first application of Tmap in domestic electric vehicles), and has proven its safety with the highest rating in Euro NCAP for electric vehicles.

Polestar has obtained the title of ‘Car of the Year’ in various markets, including Norway, North America, the Netherlands, Canada, and China. In South Korea, it was recognized with the ‘Electric Sedan of the Year’ award at the ‘EV Awards 2022’ hosted by the Ministry of Environment last March, and it currently ranks first among imported electric vehicle sales models according to the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association as of October this year.

Currently, Polestar operates in 27 markets worldwide, including Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. It announced a supply target of 50,000 vehicles in 2022 and aims to sell 290,000 units by 2025.
