Peugeot Unveils the All-New 408 at the 2022 Paris Motor Show

Peugeot will unveil the ‘New Peugeot 408’ to the public for the first time at the 2022 Paris Motor Show, starting on the 17th (local time). Alongside the New 408, the brand will showcase several products responsible for the company’s electrification, including the e-208, e-Expert Hydrogen, and the 9X8 hybrid hypercar.

The New 408, which will be unveiled to the public at the 2022 Paris Motor Show, is expected to capture visitors’ attention with Peugeot’s unique and innovative installation. The installation, which was first displayed at the Louvre-Lens in August, features the New 408 inside a transparent sphere that allows guests to appreciate the vehicle’s design from every angle without a top or bottom.

Visitors to the motor show will be able to witness Peugeot’s renewed innovation through the New 408, which introduces an unprecedented fastback style to the C-segment market. The powertrain of the New 408 focuses on efficiency and intelligent electrification, with two plug-in hybrid configurations offering 180 horsepower and 225 horsepower, while also delivering the brand’s signature agile and unique driving experience through cutting-edge technology.

As part of its strategy to accelerate electrification, Peugeot introduces the enhanced new e-208 and the e-Expert Hydrogen, a hydrogen-powered medium-sized commercial vehicle. Peugeot has announced its vision to offer at least one electrified model across its range from 2023, with a goal of having 100% of the vehicles sold in Europe being electrified models by 2030.

The newly launched e-208 boasts impressive efficiency with a range exceeding 400 km and an outstanding economy of 8.3 km/kWh, combined with a robust output of 115 kW (all according to WLTP standards).

The e-Expert Hydrogen is a medium-sized commercial vehicle equipped with Peugeot’s hydrogen fuel cell technology, providing a driving range of hundreds of kilometers with a refueling time of just three minutes, regardless of battery recharge times. The e-Expert Hydrogen delivers 100 kW of power and 26.5 kg.m of torque, with a maximum payload capacity of 1 ton.

During the motor show, Peugeot will also highlight its vision for providing the widest range of e-mobility options in Europe. Additionally, the new 100% electric scooter, e-Streetzone, capable of traveling up to 112 km in eco mode, will have its world premiere.

Additionally, Peugeot will debut the Peugeot 9X8 hybrid hypercar, which has been competing in the World Endurance Championship since July of this year. With its lion-inspired design and a powerful 2.6-liter bi-turbo V6 hybrid engine, the Peugeot 9X8 is laying the groundwork for future production vehicle development. The Peugeot 9X8 plans to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023.

Meanwhile, Peugeot will also arrange opportunities for visitors to meet the drivers of the Peugeot 9X8 hybrid hypercar, including Jean-Eric Vergne, Paul di Resta, and Mikkel Jensen, during this Paris Motor Show, which is being held for the first time in four years.
