TMAP Mobility’s Innovative Rest Stop Project for Gig Workers

TMAP Mobility is currently operating the ‘TMAP Mobile Rest Stop’ in major areas of Seoul and Gyeonggi-do as part of its ‘Driver Happiness Project.’

The mobile rest stop is set up using two 45-passenger buses and is available for not just TMAP drivers, but also delivery riders and quick service drivers working on mobility platforms. The operating hours are from 9 PM to 5 AM the next day.

Currently, the rest stops are located in front of exit 9 of Gangnam Station and within the Oido Food Street. Starting next month, new locations will also open in Seoul’s Seocho-dong (opposite Seoul Gyodae main gate) and Nonhyeon-dong (near Nonhyeon Station exit 7). In Gyeonggi-do, rest stops will be sequentially operated every 2-4 weeks in Anyang’s Gwanjang-dong (in front of Indeokwon Station exit 5), Ilsan’s Janghang-dong (near Jeongbalsan Station exit 4), and Suwon’s Ingye-dong. Detailed schedules and location information will be available through TMAP driver app notifications.

The rest stops are equipped with snacks and warm beverages, hand warmers, fast phone chargers, foot massagers, portable massagers, blood pressure monitors, and arcade game machines. A raffle event is also ongoing, offering prizes such as travel gift vouchers (500,000 KRW) and department store gift vouchers (200,000 KRW).

Kim Do-hyun, who is in charge of driver services at TMAP Mobility, stated, “As the chilly weather continues, the number of drivers using the TMAP Mobile Rest Stop has been steadily increasing,” and added, “We will actively continue the ‘Driver Happiness Project’ to sustain the spirit of ‘coexistence’ with mobility platform workers.”
