Meet the All-New Jeep Avenger: The Brand’s First All-Electric SUV Unveiled!

Jeep will unveil the “All-New Jeep Avenger,” the brand’s first all-electric SUV, at the 2022 Paris Motor Show with a world premiere.

The Jeep Avenger is the first model to be revealed from the pure electric SUV lineup announced at Stellantis’s long-term strategy presentation, “Dare Forward 2030,” held in March. It provides a valuable and attractive option for customers looking for eco-friendly vehicles from Jeep.

The Avenger features a second-generation 400V electric motor developed by Stellantis’s joint venture, eMotors, offering a maximum output of 115 kW (156 horsepower) and peak torque of 26.5 kg·m (260 Nm). A new 54 kWh battery produced by Stellantis ensures high energy density, allowing the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in just 24 minutes with a 100 kW rapid charger and offering a driving range of 400 km based on WLTP standards.

The Avenger measures 4,080 mm in length, which is 160 mm shorter than Jeep’s compact model, the Renegade, and features a design with shorter front and rear overhangs that enhances its proportional integrity. The sides are highlighted by the iconic Jeep design element of bulging fenders, exuding a strong and assertive presence. Additionally, it incorporates signature lights inspired by Jeep’s trademark fuel cap in an ‘X’ shape.

To minimize damage from low-speed collisions, the Avenger is equipped with a skid plate, 360-degree cladding, and protective headlamps. The front headlamps are positioned high for safety in low-speed collisions and feature covers, while the new skid plate is made from color-molded polymer.

The interior of the Avenger, inspired by the Jeep Wrangler, is clean and durable. To maximize interior storage space in a compact body, it boasts a front seat storage area more than double the size compared to competitors at 34L, along with ample trunk space of 308L, enhancing its practicality.

The Avenger is designed to offer the best user experience in infotainment. It features the Uconnect infotainment system, available with a 7-inch and 10.25-inch full digital cluster. The Uconnect 10-inch system provides smartphone-like graphics and allows for mirroring through wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Additionally, the Avenger offers advanced safety features, boasting Level 2 autonomous driving with automatic speed and trajectory adjustments, along with adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist to ensure passenger safety and a stable driving environment.

Immediately after the Avenger’s unveiling, Jeep will initiate pre-orders in the European market, with plans to introduce it in strategic markets such as Korea and Japan thereafter. Jeep aims to expand its electrification strategy, initially centered in Germany and France, across all European regions following the Avenger’s debut.

Jeep plans to launch the ‘All-New Grand Cherokee 4xe’ early next year and aims to introduce a total of four all-electric SUVs by 2025, including the Jeep Recon and Wagoneer S, targeting the mid and large SUV segments in Europe and North America. Based on this foundation, Jeep will unveil various models to achieve its goal of carbon neutrality, aiming for 100% of sales in Europe and half of sales in the United States to be purely electric vehicles by 2030.

Christian Meunier, Global CEO of the Jeep brand, stated, “The Avenger is writing the first chapter of a completely new Jeep portfolio in Europe. During the Paris Motor Show, the Avenger will serve as a milestone on Jeep’s path to growth in major markets and its ambition to become the world’s leading electric SUV brand.”
