The All-New Mercedes-Benz GLC: Anticipation Builds with Over 1,000 Pre-Orders!

Already, 1,000 people have lined up for the upcoming third-generation GLC from Mercedes-Benz, set to be released next year. Even if one places a contract now, there’s no guarantee of receiving the vehicle next year.

According to sales representatives from Mercedes-Benz, as of the 17th, the number of pre-orders for the third-generation GLC has surpassed 1,000. This model stands as the second-best-selling SUV in the Mercedes lineup, just behind the GLE, and began sales last month after its world premiere in June.

The exterior of the new model is 60mm longer than its predecessor, featuring a new front design where the headlamps and radiator grille are seamlessly integrated. Additionally, an emphasis on dynamic body proportions and muscular wheel arches highlights its sporty character.

In line with Mercedes-Benz’s carbon neutrality plan, Ambition 2039, the GLC will only be launched in mild hybrid and PHEV (plug-in hybrid) variants. The GLC 300e 4MATIC PHEV model combines an engine producing 204 horsepower with a maximum torque of 32.7kg.m and an electric motor with 136 horsepower and 44.9kg.m of torque, achieving a combined output of 313 horsepower and a maximum torque of 56.1kg.m.

The PHEV model is equipped with a 31.2kWh high-voltage battery, capable of driving up to 130 km on a single charge per WLTP standards, having received European certification. In daily use, it can operate solely on electrical power without any internal combustion engine interference.

The new GLC PHEV will also enable off-road driving in pure electric mode. The new GLC is expected to launch domestically in May next year, followed by the GLC Coupe in November.
