Introducing the New SM6 Phil Trim: Essential Features at an Affordable Price

Renault Korea has introduced the new ‘SM6 Phil’ trim, designed to include essential specifications for consumers at a reasonable price.

The SM6 Phil is characterized by reflecting common functionalities that consumers really need during actual vehicle operation based on a survey conducted in sales sites. To achieve this, an extensive survey was carried out based on the experiences of Renault Korea sales staff in handling consumers and customer responses after vehicle purchases.

Replacing the existing SE and LE trims, the SM6 Phil is priced at 27,440,000 KRW, which is a reduction of 940,000 KRW compared to the previous LE trim, while it incorporates most of the features preferred by consumers from the LE trim.

Included in the standard features are LED PURE VISION headlamps, Full LED rear combination lamps, dynamic turn signals—representing the exterior image of the SM6—as well as auto hold, electronic parking brake, rear cameras, power driver’s seat, auto lighting headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, intelligent smart card system, heated leather steering wheel, 7” display audio system, electronic rearview mirror, high-pass system, and parking assist (front/rear warning). Safety features such as lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and automatic high-beam are also part of the standard provisions in SM6 Phil.

In addition, for a full-option setup that includes driving assist for highways and congested areas, emergency braking assistance (detecting vehicles/pedestrians/bicycle riders), inter-vehicle distance alert, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, parking steering assist, and 360° parking assistance (front/side/rear alerts), along with the easy connect 9.3” navigation system featuring in-car payments, assist call, and real-time T-map navigation, the model is available for 30,050,000 KRW. Comfort features such as front seat ventilation and a power passenger seat are also included.

The SM6 Phil is available with either the 1.3 Turbo Direct Injection gasoline engine (TCe 260) or the 2.0 LPe LPG liquid injection engine model.

The TCe260 engine is characterized by a maximum output of 156 horsepower and maximum torque of 26.5 kg·m (260 Nm), delivering excellent performance in the practical range of 1,500 to 3,500 rpm. It also boasts a combined fuel efficiency of 13.6 km per liter (based on 16” & 17” tires). The LPe model delivers 140 horsepower with a performance of 19.7 kg·m and is gaining consistent interest from customers due to its LPG donut tank that enhances space utilization.

Furthermore, SM6 Phil offers a comfortable ride experience and precise handling performance through the synergy of the MVS (modular valve system) applied to the front and rear dampers and large capacity hydro bush in the rear suspension since the partial modification.

Kim Tae-jun, Director of Sales & Marketing at Renault Korea said, “Recently, with the rising raw material prices, there has been a corresponding increase in the prices of competing vehicles in the same class. To minimize the purchase burden for customers and provide essential functions that aid in their actual driving at a reasonable price, we have launched this new trim that effectively brings down prices.” He added, “We hope that more customers will experience the essential value of the SM6 at a reasonable price with the SM6 Phil.”
